"The Fence Post"
My favourite painting and dedicated to my love of fence posts and grass snuggling up. The idea evolved from my Central Victorian origins though the motifs occur throughout all lands. Available as a print.

A tiny painting that took me weeks to get right. First I wanted to recreate in a style that in some way resembled the work by Albrecht Durer "A Great Piece of Turf". I then I wanted to learn how to paint rain drops on barbed wire - so much a part of the winter scenery in Central Victoria where I grew up. My teacher at the time John Lawrey taught me so much about painting including how to paint raindrops.
The painting along with Lavender Fields the Storm won for me the Waverley Artist of the Year (Public Choice) 2004.
